Take some ingredients from your garden to create this mouthwatering dish and treat your friends to an inexpensive delight for the pallet.
Ingredients for Turnip Puff

2 cups cooked, mashed turnips, cooled

1 cup bread crumbs

½ cup melted butter/margarine

1 teaspoon sugar

½ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon pepper

2 eggs, separated

The turnips, bread crumbs, margarine, sugar, salt, pepper and beaten egg yolks should be combined together.

You should then beat the egg whites until they form stiff peaks.

Fold these into the turnip mixture.

The mixture should be put into a buttered dish and baked at 350 degrees for 50 minutes.
You can leave this to cool and then dish up. It will feed between 4 and 6 people, so ideal if you want to cater for guests and need a quick and easy dish straight from the garden.
